LIBRARY CARD MEMBERSHIP

Become a Member - Library Cards

L
ibrary membership cards are free. To get a card just present one or two pieces of identification with your current address, and the librarian will present you with your new card.

Children may have their own card, but until they are 14 years of age, they require the signature of a parent/legal guardian to get one. By law, borrower records are completely confidential.

Your library card may be used at any public library in Saskatchewan. Universities, colleges, schools and special libraries have procedures specific to their clients. Check with those libraries if you wish to borrow from them.

A Saskatchewan library card allows you to  research material, borrow items, and download music, audiobooks or ebooks,  have access to the libraries computers and library databases, and manage your account online.

Log into your account online to find out what books you have out, when they are due, any fines owing, the status of holds and even a list of all the books you have borrowed. Search for items and order items online. Books can also be  renewed from home - a definite asset.

In addition to print books and periodicals, we have a wide array of other media including audiobooks,e-books, CDs, and DVDs as well as facilities to access the Internet and inter-library loans (borrowing items from other libraries).

The library also provides materials for children, in a special section. Child oriented websites with on-line educational games and programs specifically designed for younger library users are becoming increasingly popular. Services provided for other groups, such as large print books,  books on CD, young adult literature and other materials for teenagers, and materials in other than the national language (in foreign languages).
